Here's an explanation of the background color. The background is my front lawn, underneath a Shumard red oak. The oak is in its wonderful Indian red stage, from the hints of frost we've had so far this year. It only just started dropping these red leaves. The lawn, mostly green, but with some yellowing from the cold and drought is sprinkled with the red leaves.
The red on the rose stems, by the way, got much stronger when the frost hit. -- Victor

The golden background gives this a rich and regal feel. There's just enough of a hint of red in the stems and out of frame blossom that the viewer does indeed know what is to come. Elegant take on the topic. -Michael
