Thanks Carole :-) Yeah I passed by the poor little popcorn truck today and the weight of the snow has the awning collapsed down on the side of it now. I'm glad I shot it when I did.

Nice shot Brent - I wonder if this is under a blanket of snow now with all that has been dumped on Seattle! :-) CJ

Thanks, much appreciated Dylan and Charlie :-) Well I'm going to try and drive my car on the icy roads this morning to work so I can complete some stuff and get it delivered to a customer cross town before the next storm coming in tonight. No "snow days" off work for me this time of year as I'm keeping busy seven days as usual :-( If you guys never hear from me again it's because my car couldn't stop going down my steep icy driveway and I got t-boned in the street by a big rig ;-)

Beautiful job, Brent. A classic example of a background drawing the eye directly towards the main subject. And I love the contrast between the colors in the background and the colors of the cart.

Perhaps I might consider myself a bit luckier than you, though, since I don't live within walking distance of work. The buses were not coming within four miles of my house yesterday, and I had to take the day off. :-(

Cheers, and stay warm. This can't last long in Seattle, right? Oh, what's that they are saying about a bigger snow storm coming later today or tomorrow??????

I'm liking wide angle more and more, and this photo is the reason why. It looks so comical with a fantasy touch. Great eyes, as I know most passersby wouldn't think this scene can make masterpiece.

Gee thanks much guys :-) I had to walk to work due to ice on the roads not being bicycle safe and spotted this lonely popcorn truck during a shortcut through Seattle Center. I shot it with the lens that was on my camera full wide at 24mm and left it at that because I didn't want to change lenses with snow coming down. This was shot on my evening return home at 17mm to just add some more interest I thought. I tried 50mm at 1.4 too and got some bokeh but it looked too static to me. Just available light here Nico taking care to not drop too low and directly expose incandescent bulbs under the awning.
I'm about to do the same walk to work right now, brrrrrrh!

Simply fantastic. Gorgeous light, crisp where it matters, evocative, lovely composition, rich colors, delightful subject (all this means I like it). -Michael

Brent, what can I say: a more perfect shot I can hardly imagine! You've got the green, you've got the red, you've got this time of the year beautifully portrayed, stunning composition, perfect lighting... in a word: perfect. I would be interested in your lighting setup? Standing ovation. Regards Nico
