My Perfect Manhattan

Boulder, CO

To continue my cherry theme, here's my Perfect Manhattan. 2 1/2 oz Maker's Mark bourbon, 1/2 oz dry vermouth, 1/2 oz kirchwasser (some kind of very dry cherry mixer), 1/2 oz creme de cassis, 1/2 oz triple sec, dash of bitters, twist of orange peel, and, of course, a maraschino cherry. I drank it as soon as I'd finished taking pictures, and before processing them, so that accounts for any flaws in the processing!

Thanks Charlie and Pops. I usually drink Maker's Mark, or other bourbons, with just ice, but occasionally I feel like something fancy. On most of those occasions it's a very dry Beefeater martini with 3 olives, but sometimes the lure of a cherry is too much!

My perfect Manhattan is simpler still - old fashioned glass, ice, Makers Mark, enjoy. I don't like anything in my booze except ice.

Nice shot. Well done. This is a favorite drink of mine as well, though my "MMM" recipe is much simpler. It starts with soaking a few dried Rainier cherries in Makers Mark for a day or so, and uses no more than a splash of sweet vermouth.
