A Sow's Ear

...a silk purse from a sow's ear this will never be...I guess. It's funny that Michael choose green as a topic because I was just attempting to do something successful with this image.

Emotionally, at the time, this vista really spoke to me....I shot it about ten times, thinking, "A Pagoda off alone in a forest, a valley creasing it's way towards the sea has got to be one wonderful picture!"

And yet, I sense that I can't get any piazza out of this.

I'm posting this just to see what other people think....if anything.

Traveller, (Oh, Lantau Island, Hong Kong, China....isn't Google just a wonderful thing? Seriously)

You are SO right, Trav. Will you call my hubby and tell him? *grin* ~Lydia

I really enjoy your travel images. This gives me a feeling of deep moisture, coolness, stillness. I think that feeling would be stronger if the exposure was darker/deeper and you increased contrast. It's an effective composition...I think there is a silk purse here. -Michael

He he, somehow makes me think of this 80's punk band song (think it was the Dickies) where part of the lyrics go "stuck in a Pagoda with Trisha Toyota" (sung forcefully of course). Trisha Toyota was a news anchor in L.A. at least until I moved away in '91- maybe she's still around? Anyway, this must have been quite a sight :-)

Hummm, Thanks for the Suggestion Sharon....I always take criticism best from women, (because women know everything). Best Wishes, Traveller

That must have really been a magnificent sight in person, Trav! ~Lydia

Very nice, indeed, Traveller! Perhaps a bit more contrast, especially the pagoda, would make it pop a bit more. ~Sharon
