I don't know any recent horror movies as after once watching a really bad movie called "Mother's Day" I got turned off from them forever. However I did enjoy Night of the Dead once, long ago, and I have seen Day of the Triffids (at least part of it). Actually, this picture somehow reminds me of a Stephen King movie - you know, the one with the hedge creatures at the hotel.

"What have I done!" lol. As punishment, another film you'll have to see if you haven't already: Jack Sholder's "The Hidden" (1987). Not so horror, more Action/suspense with a Sci-Fi touch. Different. Grabs you right from the start. Not many have seen it here, but Kyle MacLachlan has one of the lead roles - it may have been more mainstream over there.
