Bronze on Wood

Boulder, CO

My neighbor's tree has these bronze birds on it. I'm not sure whether they're for decoration, or to scare off other birds. They don't scare off the squirrels!

Thanks for the comments. As to the processing, I used an action that I discovered on a dpreview forum several years ago. It simulates the effect of Provia film. It adds a certain amount of saturation and contrast, and does some more nifty things. It also works on a layer, so you can dial it to however much you want in the end product. I usually only use it at about 50%, but this time I used full strength to enhance the bronze color. I also added a very small amount of selective sharpening on the tree and bronze birds (I used my usual lab sharpening action dialed back to 20%).

Yes, I questioned if this was over-sharpened....but it looks good! How do I do this? Traveller

Hah.. I first thought this might be Lydia's PP style. Nice wilderness and colors, funny "birds" :)
