Thanks Melbob for your comments. I appreciate them. I went back and checked the EXIF data. Here's what I found....1/125, f8 at ISO 500. I don't remember what focal length but It was probably near 300mm. Without a tripod I probably had trouble holding still. And, I know I did the focus and recompose thing but probably not very well. Also, since the photo was taken in RAW I don't think I did enough sharpening. I've replaced the original with one with a tiny bit more sharpening. Perhaps it looks better. ~dtallakson

Beautiful scene dt, Yosemite really is a photographers dream especially at the extreme ends of daylight.

DT, putting on my 'black hat' and being super critical, I am intrigued by this in that is seems very soft especially in the corners? That lens is really an extreme zoom and I am wondering (no EXIF info) if this was shot at the extreme end and wide open?

I'm used to seeing wonderfully sharp and clear photographs from you dt and this one seems not be be quite in that same league? It could, of course be my eyes, I've had to blink a few times... lol?

So... was this shot outside the lens 'sweet spot' or was the shutter speed just a little too slow or am I being a bit too picky?

~ Regards Melbob
