Thank you all for your kind comments. Yes it is a Jacaranda and I have two huge ones in my garden, I love this time of the year when they come into bloom the entire city looks just beautiful. Nico, I have also been meaning to do a "Jacaranda shoot" but just have not had the time - you should try Parkview or where you live in Pretoria there are some spectacular streets to photograph.
Michael, as I was driving through the streets of Johannesburg this week, and saw these "purple carpets" everywhere, I too often contemplated turning it into something for this Challenge. Somehow, the right "scene" did not quite appear possible for me. But you did nicely! Compliments. Nico
