Confrontational is a word that comes to my mind when I think of abstract art and this is definitely that. Nice job! I enjoyed your flicker stream of architecture too - my fav is probably Monument 3. The hotel is quite an amazing structure, to say the least, but all the town's color is just too wonderful for words. Lucky you to experience such a place.

This looks like a great place to see Nico, really enjoyed your Flickr stream. I think the punchy color treatment you gave this works well here. I wonder if the image posted next to this on the right in your stream might work even better for the topic? Might be worth posting both and seeing what feedback you get.

Thanks, tv. I am discovering that architectural abstracts is definitely not my strongest suit in terms of photography... and I was not sure if this really fits the topic. Thanks for the reassuring words!

This is a good example of an "abstraction" from reality which works by carefully selected composition and well controlled processing to emphasize the "abstract" qualities of the subject. The intense colors and abstract designs embellishing the store front help the effect but even without such obvious motifs, it could still be an "abstraction" managed by the presentation. -tv
