First Lisa Marie,
The building holds a symphony hall, offices and shops and on its' other side looks like a very normal office building. It holds some 35,000 plants representing 76 species! I sent you a link on your PBase site to give you more glimpses of this amazing building.
Second Sam,
Fukuoka is a vibrant and interesting city and I regret having only spent one day there though we were guided by a resident who knew what was worth seeing. Very much worth a visit if you get the chance.
Third Nico,
Thanks for your kind comment. Close inspection will reveal the stairways up each side that allow you to 'scale' the building and look down from the top.
Nice image and on target. And great coincidence; we had a Japanese exchange student spend the summer with us last year. She was from Fukuoka. Sam Attal

Nice, I have never seen a building covered in vegetation before. Is this a some kind of eco-research facility?
