Escaping from Crater Lake was almost as difficult as this challenge. Traveling along Crater Lake's rim to the north exit, Mrs. Mimms and I, knowing well we had very little time to get home to Portland, took our chances and stopped for every photo opportunity. This was one of the last photos from within the park's boundaries, Mrs. Mimms fleeing across the pumice desert, it is one of my favorites.
