Saqqara, Memphis, Dahshur

Saqqara was the cemetery of ancient Memphis and burried there were Old Kingdom pharaohs. The Step Pyramid, the world's earliest stone monument, was designed by Imhotep and built in 2650 BC for Djoser. Memphis was the capital for ancient Egypt through most of its history . Not much to be seen nowadays except the museum which houses a gigatic Ramses II statue in perfect condision. Dahshure has the Bent Pyramid and Red Pyramid. The former is angled at 54 and then 43 degrees, thus bent. The later got its name for its weathered stand stones.
