Mandalay Hill is better approached by pickup trucks, not bare-footed. Don't miss a huge marble Buhhda at the hill entrance. Mandalay Place is a replica of concrete pillars and corrugated sheets. The Buddha statue in Mahamuni Paya is knobbly as it covered with years of gold foils. Don't be hesitage to visit the workshops of wood-carving, silk-weaving, gold-ponders, as there's no sales pressure. More interesting is to travel to Sagaing, Inwa, and Amarapura, where your imagination can be further broadened.
