Tajikistan is one of the "Stans" located in Central Asia. I took a tour that followed a portion of the Pamir Highway, famous as one of the highest highways in the world. We drove through rugged country on a narrow road that was often gravel, with lots of ups and downs. Much of the time we were in the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Oblast (seldom visited by tourists); eventually we made it to Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan. Follow along with me on my journey.
