India's Seven Sisters are seven states (Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Manipur, Tripura, Mizoram and Nagaland)located in the far northeast of India, between Bangladesh and Myanmar. Many of its inhabitants have Asian ancestors (who came from China)hundreds of years ago; the states are a "melting pot of migratory peoples". Each is a little different from the other, and seldom are they visited by Western tourists; we were often of great curiosity to the locals. Much of the terrain is mountainous, with the mighty Brahmaputra River, and the plain it carved, flowing through it.
