My grandfather James Robson Hills b. 1869 at Hemlington, Yorkshire used to talk of market day at Northallerton - he had his first family with Charlotte Walls Hills at Brompton, Charlotte sadly died and he married my Grandmorther at Northallerton in 1915 and moved eventually to Wales. James R was the son of Robert and Margaret Robson Hills. Roberts father was James 1808 who was son of Robert Hills 1777 and Sarah Gibson 1800 who married at your St Cuthberts Church in Darlington...(lovely postcards) ..I do not know anything else about Robert 1777. Lovely to see where my ancestors walked in your history gallery - well done and thank you.
