Arlington West is a project of the Los Angeles Veterans for Peace commemorating those killed and wounded in the Iraq War.
Every Sunday morning volunteers plant hundreds of crosses in the sand - a white cross represents one fallen soldier, a red represents 10 and the row of flag draped coffins represent the total number killed in one week.
I was checking out the Arlington West Memorial site and saw your credit on a photo. So I came here through the link and I must say, I'm extremely impressed. Not just for these photos, but for the sampling I've seen of all your photos. Carole, you are the best!! Miss seeing you. Keep up your wonderful work.
