Seen in this area were:
2 Ebony Jewelwing damselflies,
Eastern Pondhawks, Common Green Darners
and Twelve-spotted Skimmer dragonflies
a Wood frog in a pool beside the creek
many juvenile Green and Bull frogs
a small dead crayfish (probably an Orconectes virilis)
a Mammoth lymnaea aquatic snail
a Kingfisher flying back and forth over the creek
several small stands of very tall Blue vervain
Dogday Havestfly cicadas heard calling from trees
minnows and saw larger fish striking for flies
a deer on a wooded slope further downstream
bones of an adult deer under White pine tree (first seen last winter).
