Section of stand of Purple Loosestrife along Cty Rd 15 -- east side)

UTM 18T 0435991, 4962829

Galerucella found on younger shoots of Purple loosestrife on east side of County Road #15,
south of Wolford Centre and north of Land O'Nod Road. This is a stretch of road
bordered by huge stands of loosestrife on both sides, with large areas stretching
out into the fields on the west side of the road. No insects found on the west
side stands, but on the east side, abundant Galerucella found feeding and mating
on the lower vegetation closer to the roadside -- this seemed to be new growth
from plants that must have been mowed at some point over the summer. Not much
insect activity seen in the taller plants growing in the ditch further from the
shoulder of the road.
