Walmer Castle, Deal

Built in 1538 by Henry VIII as part of a coastal defense system; in 1708 it was converted into a residence for 'The Lord Warden of the Cinque Ports', starting with the Duke of Wellington and in the early C20th Queen Mary who added a charming water garden
