Pheasant

Newbourne

must be a very large juvenile male - it charged across 100m or so in front of me looking like maybe a fox, but then paused and became a bird pottering. The red bit still very small and blue collar very pale

A rather mottled specimen but a nice bird to have around. In parallel I recall, when visiting Germany in winter many years ago, looking out the window and seeing a Pheasant running across the yard.
