actually I don't think they do any ploughing as such, just crash in the remains of the last crop and form the ridged seed beds for the next and it goes on 7 days a week and two or even 3 crops per year possibly including the occasional manure crop; makes me wonder if there is anything alive for the gulls to forage

I think this is called "no till" its popular here in Australia and saves the top soil in strong winds.. v

A great composition. The machine might not be ploughing, but those birds are certainly reaping some kind of benefit.
