Hello Jola, Tomasz, Matylda, Zyziza & Michal (who has gone rather quite lately, probably on baby duty)

...and in the foreground a possible explanation of how King Cnut (Canute) of England, Denmark and Norway was reputed to have held back the waves of a rising tide

Nice Polish Accent, thanks Chris :)
King Canute's mother was Sigrid the Haughty (Sigrid Storråda, Gunhild), a Slavic princess, daughter of first duke Mieszko I of Poland and sister of Boleslaw I Chrobry, the first King of Poland.

Like this shot over the old pool giving it a great line in front of the pier. v

King Canute the Great was a powerful man. Should have been the Danish flag instead. :-))

I do like the symmetry of the arches and the long view of the pier...but do believe Canute was optimistic...V

Canute was a silly King, he should have got the sack, for trying to make the waves go back.
Pawel Kazmierczyk24-Jun-2013 20:18
hmmm, he held back the waves with the Polish flag? Or was it the green hedge? ;)

Good for blowing away the seagulls too.
