This theater is one of Montana's most famous, opened Sept.24,1936,and approximately $200,000 cost. The first show was The Texas Rangers. King Vidor's historical epic of the men who molded a state from the territory of Texas. It featured an all-star cast headed my Fred MacMurray and Jack Oakie,Included in its headliners was Jean Parker a Montana contribution in filmdom. I also sat in this theater many times and it holds lot of memories for me.
Although I was born in Butte and moved to Seattle at age 4, I spent every summer vacation in Anaconda from 1959-1972. I was in this Theater many times. My Grandparents lived up the street at 704 Main. Thanks for the memories.
