My Mother's Hands

Most of my really good memories were of my mother through the years. She was my best friend. This is not a recently done image but thought it sort of fitted in this challenge.

So lovely, Ann. The poetry is perfect and the poem you wrote is charming. How it must have warmed your mother's heart to hear those words! Beautiful! ~Meg

Tell you a funny about the poem which I put a little of at the lower right. There was a contest for writing a poem about your mother and I wrote it and entered it. On Mother's day gifts started arriving at her house--flowers, candy and several other things. She called me all excited as she didn't know anything about the contest. I think she liked this best of all the Mother's Day gifts I ever gave her--not for the gifts but for the poem. I decoupaged it on a little memory box later for her. Somewhere along my travels I lost the poem and when she passed all her things were thrown to the winds by my helpful help! I was an only child and we lived in the country and many weeks she was my only playmate and companion. I surely do miss her.

Beautifully composed with the perfect palette for tender memory. My mother was also my best friend, but so different from yours, struggling as a single mother and remaining somewhat glamorous but always putting her children first--
This evokes my memories of her, in spite of the differing personas.

Thanks. I appreciate your comment. I lost her 10 years ago. Seems time really flies as you grow older.
