Scary Window

a few years ago, i ran downstairs and had ed pose w a big knife creating a shadow in my bedroom window. in PS, i tilted the window, gave it an erie tint and dabbed blood drippings from the knife. i know guys, this is elementary when it comes to image manipulation, but i think the idea was a good one!

If this is the shadow cast on the floor, then the spatter is where the blood dripped. Meaning this is the victim's viewpoint.
Simple and very strong. Would make an excellent book cover or movie poster.

LOL!!! I think it's fantastic that your hubby posed for you, and that you came up with this idea is wonderful. I totally agree with Almita and Skunk... your imagination is terrific. I think I'd like to see the blood more drippy, too, but other than that this doesn't need any more image manipulation. I have to confess that after 6 or so years collaging my scans, I barely use all the wonderful tools PS has to offer...I don't even know how to use the adjustment layer...lol and cringing a bit with embarrassment. Masks, levels, hues, modes, dodge/burn and unsharp mask are my favorite go-to tools. Oh, and THE ERASER!!! ~Meg

Your imagination and vision are what counts! Knowing all the computer tricks and skills can enhance things, but vision is all.
I do wish the blood drops were a little more "droppy" (as in teardrops or raindrops). These seem more like a spray, which fits also, I guess. tipping the window was exactly the needed touch to make it nightmarish.

You've got a good hubby and a great imagination. I like how part of the shadow is fuzzy and that the important parts such as the hands are sharp. That lower hand adds a lot of drama to the image, even more than the knife does especially with that spot of light. (in my opinion.)--skunk
