Inside Outside

The Structure and Brush--added a couple of images from my collection of free-to use images: the netting and the silhouette. Created the frame by a colored stroke and an application of a PS style, blended to be unobtrusive, yet to make a distinct edge.
Can you tell me the story here?

Oh, Almita, I agree with Tim. This makes me think of a modern version of Brriar Rose. Here the people don't sleep, but are witness to their enclosure of bars and ever growing brambles and are left to wonder when they will regain a sense of control over their lives. The little birds seem like messengers of hope. ~ Meg

Thanks Tim; I do believe you understand this piece better than I do; it was a fairly spontaneous weave yet seemed to have significance for me.

Can't help but think this is your inner self...portrayal of outward; possibly feelings trapped behind this grid locked fence both inside yet the hint your outside of it. Could be outside looking in and beyond as only the branches symbolic of life seem to reach beyond the grid like the soul or a shadow can be beyond where the physical self can not pass through. Freedom to move beyond seems to be at the heart of this ambiguity of inward outwardness and the nature of-what we are given: "fight and flightless." I really like this piece Almita and may you find this peace!

Is it? or isn't it? Love the ambiguity of the grid. Just where is it? Very clever. I also like the way the wispy branches flow in front/or behind the wire mesh. And I really do like the frame. It's not a frame but part of the whole picture. It sure depicts our grey weather we've been having. Another day of the dreariness.--skunk
