Night time on Pandora

I've been playing around with Photoshop lately. This is a style very new to me. I had a LOT of fun making it!!

Very well done! Thank you for sharing the tutorial. I think you've surpassed the demonstration in composition, form, and clarity, bringing your own special touch to the work. --Melody

I followed the tutorial here:
http://www.pxleyes.com/tutorial/photoshop/2004/Create-a-Magic-Glowing-and-Sparkly-Wood-Scenery.html

I only deviated from the tutorial in a few places... I added an extra gradient over the background group, and took some liberties with everything else. I wanted my bird to look a little more like a pheasant than the one in the tutorial, so I changed it a little, too.

I used Photoshop to make this one. My usual software of choice is the GIMP. (Gnu Image Manipulation Program), but I've been trying to use Photoshop more. I've only made less than 50 pictures in Photoshop now, compared to the hundreds I've done in GIMP.

Thanks for the compliments.

Beautifully composed. Is this one you did for your Photoshop class? I love the beautiful lines of the flower stems. I'm also very interested in the green background. I, too, would like to know more on how you created it. I also think you should post this in the Celebrations gallery. My one nitpick is that the signature should become more of the image itself. As it is right now, it doesn't quite fit. All aside, this is another very fine creation.

Very nice kitten - How much is created from scratch - look's like quite a bit.
To Shu - "Gimp" - LOL!

WOW! this is beautiful ms kitten! it makes me want to look up what "kimp" is! LOL could you explain briefly what your work flow was on this one? again, i am so new at this so that the way you assemble a piece of art like this one is most interesting! yes, i can see why you are very proud of it! shu
