Pele, Goddess of Fire

It's freezing here so I guess I'm thinking fire - the butterflies are a Photoshop brush - blending modes - fire from eye candy - just depressed and playing with the computer!

She rules her tropical paradise, combining beauty, mystery, and danger. You've made a very fitting image. --Melody

Pele is one of my favorite deities---we need her to warm and scare us at the same time.
I am reading a story now that says that all deities were created by man's beliefs, and were the product of humans and fae--The faerie heritage gave them immortality and the human heritage gave them empathy/understanding. A nice conceit, no? Pele fits right in there...
Also, butterflies are sometimes thought to represent angels, so this image is perfect for the season!

Think this piece is at one now with the Universe. As an Eclipse on this years winter Solstice hasn't been seen for 456 years.

Also see great significance in the unique coupling of the masculine energy of the sun, fire-red, and the feminine energy of the moon, ice-white — trans-formative energies that she plans to incorporate into the festive winter-solstice rituals. It's seen as a time of rebirth or renewal because, astrologically, it's a time where the light comes back. Like it will come back for you too.
