My little dog died today

I made this picture and then took my little dog to the vet to end her suffering. I put her in a basket lined with a lace curtain. She will be buried close to the house. At the vet, she left her body behind and now is some place where I cannot go just yet. I don't have many tears as I had enough before she died.

Our animal friends become such a big part of our lives. I am so sorry to hear that your dog has passed away. This is a very evocative image that captures so many of the elements of grief. Amazing!

I'm sad to hear about your dog, and at the same time, happy to hear she's no longer suffering. It's hard to part with such a good friend... I'm thinking the image reflects very much your feelings at the moment, with the muted, sad colors, the little girl who can only watch what's going on without being able to change anything, and a bit of angry graffiti...
