Time in a Bottle

"If I could make days last forever
If words could make wishes come true
I'd save every day like a treasure..." Jim Croce

Somehow, thinking of time brought to mind the song, which led me to think of the jokester that time is, and then back to childhood and my most favorite book of all time with the original illustrations--so lucky to find that one from Dover.
The background is one of a collection of digital backgrounds, texturized; the background drawings are from Dover; the bottle, and clock faces are from Hemera Photo Clip Art. There is a gradient mask between the background and the drawings; the faux frame was made with the line tool in Photoshop, and the edges were made by a method I can describe to anyone who asks.

This almost makes me feel like crying...what a gallery of Time. When I was a child I felt much like an adult. Then in my later life I feel more childlike than you'd imagin. Almost if someone put me in that bottle, shook it all up and spilled out the pieces, but they weren't in the "right" order. That's the joker for you.
Thanks, Almita.

We talked about this image the other day and I was really surprised that other folks have never seen the original Wizzard characters. This is a very complex image and well put together. I love the slightly ragged edge of the frame where bits and pieces step out. The background itself is absolutely beautiful. --skunk

Fay, the "other characters" are illustrations from the original "Wizard of Oz". I forgot that a lot of folks are not old enough to have had the privilege of reading the first editions. These illustrations are classic, and I was so happy to find this on Dover, which no doubt got it from some public domain records.

I love the joker with the time piece in a bottle, as time plays a joke on us all ... LOL, but I'm not sure how much the other characters add except that they are well drawn ~ Fay
