Somehow the Rembrandt quality of this painting takes it out of the class of sermon or despair and puts it into a category of artistic social commentary.
I do think your sig is too big and bold for the content--but it is a very nice sig!

This makes me think of Rembrandt, not in terms of theme or subject, but in the powerful way you have used light and shadow, brightnes and negative space. The image has a powerful impact, as others have said before me. This is one that cries out to the viewer. --Melody

Yes, the hand sure does come out and grab you, and I must say, I spent a fair amount of time looking and thinking about that hand and what it means. It seems so alive yet the fellow seems very close to dead, if not dead yet.--Masterly job.--skunk

OOH! I started from the top down. Was admiring the bottle and then the hand grabbed me. Kind of creepy-sad, but well-done. Like something from a movie. Jan

Super mood - the beer, the bottle - whatever works for the ultimate escape. and the desired result finally achieved in unconsciousness - a very graphic story teller.

well done in a CREEPY way ... looks like someone OD'd on drugs and was doing alcohol chasers... or something. Like the depressing ambience you created artistically, altho this would not be something for my desktop, :-) Fay

I'm not so sure that one beer can is enough to get the point across. Maybe several more could have been included. Actually, there's barely a swallow of champagne missing...the bottle doesn't seem to "fit" the theme. But it is a very well crafted image...I'd just like to see more of the challenge images included.

Wow, you and I were on the same cosmic thread not more than minutes apart in making art for this challenge and the upload; very kewl. You changed the lettering of the Bush can. Very smartly trans-formative Hawkman. Great work amigo and very powerful composition....
