How do today's artists interpret myths? Classic and historical myths have been represented by some of the greats of art history, classics to modernists: ..." the visual interpretations of myths that artists through time have given us. Many myths are such compelling stories that artists have turned to them again and again, reinterpreting them from the vantage point of their own experience and imagination." http://www.artsmia.org/world-myths/whatismyth.html
So this concept gallery is for you, the artist, to create visualization of any myth that is peculiar to your own culture and interests, and especially to the myths that have evolved during the past 2 centuries. For example. some American myths: Area 51, Paul Bunyon, Bigfoot, Spiderwoman, Coyote, Pecos Bill, The Jersey Devil, etc.
Or, if you like, myths that have arisen from movies and TV--Superman, Luke Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobe, Lone Ranger, or even James Bond, any person or thing that has become an integral part of our culture.
Or--
take a stab at creating your own myth for our times...
