OPINIONS ARE JUST LIKE REARENDS...EVERYONES GOT ONE AND SOME REALLY STINK...
THIS IS A BIG GUITAR DESIGNED FOR GUITAR PLAYERS WHO HAVE BALLS...
I HAVE ONE AND IT IS A BOSS, I LAID DOWN MY STRAT AND SHAMED MY FRIENDS PRS
WITH 24 FRETS IT HAS HIGHS LIKE AN EAGLE... PICKUPS THAT ROAR BUT THAT CAN ALSO BE AS SOFT AS A SPRING BREEZE... THE SIZE IS DESIGNED TO GIVE BALANCE TO THE NECK AND TO GIVE IT HEAVY TONAL QUALITIES... NEVER HEARD OF ROBERT SMITH UNTIL I PICKED UP AN ULTRACURE...BY THE WAY IT IS AS BOUT AS MUCH THE SAME THE OTHER CURE GUITARS AS IT IS THE SAME AS THE "DIAMOND SERIES" LOGO ON THE HEADPIECE...NOT.... THE ONLY PROBLEM I HAVE WITH THIS GUITAR IS FINDING A CASE TO PUT IT IN... IF YOU LIKE PUTTING YOUR HANDS AROUND SOMETHING THAT'S GOT UMPHH IN IT, I'D SUGGEST PUTIING ONE OF THESE IN YOUR HANDS AND AGAINST YOUR BODY AND STROKE IT AND YOU'LL SEE WHAT IT'S ALL ABOUT

Vinx 23-Aug-2005 15:47
E' molto bella... ma in Italia non si trovano
moe29 13-Nov-2004 00:56
It's not a bad looking guitar. I love the inlays.
The only thing that bothers me is the headstock...
Might be fun to have one.
zazz 15-Aug-2004 11:57
well i acctually think its ok and i really do know a lot about guitars....i only hope that anyone who buys this robert smith signature guitar already owns a white jazzmaster as this is acctually the unofficial roberts smith signature guitar.
gwyn 10-Aug-2004 21:19
ahh..but i'd love a gibson es335....
twily 10-Aug-2004 14:08
I don't know an awful lot about guitars either, but I love the inlay. Based on the headstock, I think he may have smacked the microphone with one of these in Mansfield. Keep in mind this is a guess from a distance, but it certainly looked pretty funky to me...

This is the coolest keyboard ever. All of the knobs and buttons that light up are so cool.

Oh no. Do I dare post this and suffer the coming criticism?

Would I read any of it?

Would I care?

No.
Parabola 08-Aug-2004 02:18
It looks great. He uses his others guitars too, i don´t see the problem.

ohhhhhhhhhhhh cursing!!!!!!!!!! i really do hope you are a 13 year old girl Guitar Lover, otherwise there is NO excuse.
skyfullofdreams 08-Aug-2004 00:19
Ya know, I know nothing of guitars, but it looks kinda cool and Robert Smith has been playing one since he was 15 and is part of one of the most successful bands in the world and with that unless you are in that caliber - this is a comment page not a rip and bitch page - so I think it looks cool and am still a fan of everything they do - so like it or hate it - move on children. Make one yourself or work for a guitar company if you are that 'involved' in it all Geeze! and above that stop listening to the cure and posting if you are going to be so critical people - get a hobby that doesn't hurt so much
guitar lover 07-Aug-2004 22:10
hey how about if i get you a quote from micahel the head of schecter would that shut you the fuck up
guitar lover 07-Aug-2004 22:01
thats ridiculous, so a stratocaster is an altered tele ? they started with a completely new shape for this guitar and added some elements of the ultra, like the raised middle of the body ... it is a totally new guitar , like i said get an eye test and please stop wasting my time ...
Dont Be Silly 06-Aug-2004 21:06
I guess you dont know what ALTERED means, I'll give you a few simple synonyms {words that mean the same} ~ Changed, Varied ~ and your eyesight, or reading comprehension is in question....ALTERED in terms that he increased the length & width of the body and head stock {of a standard ULTRA}, now you get it? I bet you failed the whole round peg in the round hole thing in Pre-K. You would most likely say it's a C/S/PT Class BlackJack Hollow Body Tempest Hellcat Subsonic Extended Scale Guitar before you wake up and realize its called ULTRACURE for a reason. Guitar Lover does not equal Guitar Player. Whatever you do, i implore you, DO NOT sign up for a Luthier School {Luthier means one who designs & builds guitars}. You would flunk out and waste their time & your money. Go get yourself a BC Rich and rock the world!!!!

it would appear you have the same eye sight problems robert has, the shapes are nothing like each other and as i already said the uglycure is about 30% biggerhttp://www.schecterguitars.com/ds_home_fl.htm ... now stop wasting your time and mine posting on here and go to an opticians immediately ... no tree deserves to be turned into something as ugly as this, its an abomination, an eyesore, a tragedy
Dont Be Silly 06-Aug-2004 16:52
only resemblance to an ultra?? HUH? Considering it's called the ULTRA CURE i'd say it's a little more than a mere resemblance. Robert altered the bodies' length, width, cutouts & headstock ~ but its still based on the Ultra body and headstock {2 + 4 reversed machine heads}. Same ProTones locking bridge & talpiece ~ humbuckers may be different & are covered. Control layouts are the same but with the addition of an extra pot {hopefully master volume with indivual volume for each PU & most Schecters offer coil tapping, like the Hellcat&Hellcat VI, wonder if this one does too} ~ pickup toggle selector is in same position. So basically it is a customized designed ULTRA with his signature on the headstock and spacey inlays.
guitar lover 06-Aug-2004 14:47
its only resemblance to an ultra, which is actually a nice looking guitar , is the raised ridge in the middle . its about 30% bigger than an ultra and a horrible shape.
Guest 06-Aug-2004 07:21
It's basically an Ultra (a model already in Schecter's lineup, not a new guitar) in black with some inlays on the fret board (moons, stars, etc.), so there's nothing really special about it.
erikandrew 06-Aug-2004 04:32
I can't say I really like this guitar. I was planning on buying an "Ultra", though. Once I heard about Robert's model, I held off waiting to see how much it would differ. Outside of the color being all black and the inlays, it doesn't seem all that different. Nonetheless, they are nice guitars and relatively affordable. The "Ultra" goes for about $800 list. Guitar Center is a dealer..thus, you can usually get them for significantly less if in store. I don't know just how much more this model will go for... and yes, Robert does have a tremolo...I was hoping his model would have one...but, if this guitar is of a certain series (I forget which) you can special order one with a tremolo.
i love rosie 06-Aug-2004 02:17
wow, this is one unsightly axe. robert! what is up?
guitar lover 06-Aug-2004 01:59
that is the ugliest piece of wood i have ever seen, will nobody tell him ? and it sounds like shit as well .... surely he's not blind and deaf ?
gwyneth 06-Aug-2004 01:56
love this guitar....shape of the body is interesting, inlays are a good choice (good taste robert!) I'm really interested in the feel of the guitar, espcially the neck....strats have a nice neck, les pauls are too heavy in the neck for my tastes..but nice to look at...i'm sure with robert working on this design that the tone is going to be great....hoping there's some sort of robert signature, or cure logo somewhere....
Joseph 06-Aug-2004 01:27
The Ultra-Cure is based on the Schecter Ultra series body, same raised center Ala-Gibson Firebird. Looks like it has that 'Map' body like the National he used on Prayer Tour/Trilogy, offset body like Jazzmaster & weird shape like a reversed larger JagStang. Looks like Robert melded these guitars into one!! Dual covered Humers, moon & star inlays, 2 + 4 machine heads & reversed headstock, wonder if the crazy shaped case is included. Any guesses on price tag?
stephen 05-Aug-2004 23:57
I too love the Gibson Chet Atkins Signature & the Gretsch Silver Falcon... but I dig this one too. The inlay work is very nice, The shape looks well ballenced, I like it.
I can see the 'raised center' from the Gibson Firebird comparison, though I think it looks more like a national than a Fender, and I've seen Rober use Nationals before.
I don't know the story behind this model but the 'UltraCure' I could only guess is a combiation of all of some of thier favourite guitars; Simon's Thunderbird, Perry's LesPaul and Robert's National.
Though I'd love to see a hollow body version... I can see the f-holes now.
Raymond 05-Aug-2004 23:48
I believe they are producing the Black Falcon again this year. I read it was $4000. That guitar has to be my favorite guitar both looks and sound are awesome. I want that guitar along with the Hellcat VI, and the Fender Jagstang re-issue and the '56 Stratocaster off-white NOS re-issue.

It looks a bit like a ripoff of a Gibson Firebird. Doesn't the one Robert plays on tour have a tremelo?
mike 05-Aug-2004 21:45
yea, i can see a really cool guitar in there somewhere, but it's like they've gone too far trying to make it look 'different'. body shape looks uncomfortable and the headstock is too funky. i much prefer the stock schecter that perry plays.. classy in its simplicity.
joshua 05-Aug-2004 21:43
the fretboard is bad ass though
Phil 05-Aug-2004 21:38
Horrible. I miss the Gibson Chet Atkins, Gretsch Falcon, and Gretsch Tennessee Rose. Even Robert's plain Telecaster from In Orange beats this. Uuugh! Modern looking guitars always look stupid a few years down the road anyhow. Look at that horrible headstock.
