Two pools at the Water Gardens have been closed due to the drowings of 3 people from Chicago last year. The changes that are coming probably wont be finished until 2006 or 2007. The Water Gardens wont be the same--especially the main pool. It will only have a water depth of 1.5 feet and railings, etc. This is going overboard on safety in order to avoid more lawsuits. The city planners of Ft. Worth and the mayor have not done a good job of managing the Water Gardens. This is the result. In my humble opinion a full time caretaker for the Water Gardens should be rehired who can maintain the water depth (among other things) at the proper level. Obviously the city planners and mayor only think about how much money they can save, and in the long run it cost them (and everybody else) a lot more.
Anyway, hope you enjoy the pictures. Water Gardens scheduled to reopen in Fall/2006, but there will be changes.
