This is taken from the highest point in the town (other than the towers), the fort atop the hill. The towers initially were built as a status symbol, until the mayor built Torre Grossa and declared that no one else was allowed to build one higher than he. Today, these towers are apartments with no assignable price tag and in all, there are 13 towers still standing from more than 700 years ago. Would today's engineering stand up to 700 years?
