I don't know how to describe this place other than just strange. And beautiful. I have wanted to see it since I learned of it in French class more than ten years ago. Its existence is illogical to me, because in my world there were never people trying to take my property by force. You can't help but think of that motivation while walking up and down the endless stairs and through the winding alleys.
