A day of random roadtripping with Pauline. This is Pienza, home (long ago) of Pope Pius II. His idea was to make this small hill town into his little paradise. Unfortunately he didn't live long enough to see it through to fruition.

The second part of the roadtrip was to Montepulciano, where Brunello wine is made. The town itself is one of the highest in Italy, and other than that nothing special (in my opinion). I am sure it is a great place to live, it looked very lived-in, but for tourist purposes there's not much to see. Better for the inhabitants, I guess.
