An Ethical Dilemma

Anyone ever planned to go out after dark and
murder the subject(s) of their 'Photo-A-Day'?

Tried framing them; maybe I got a little carried away...

Here's the original shot, by the way:

I don't normally do a lot in Photoshop, but when I do I tend to get carried away.
On this I cropped, desaturated the nest, enhanced the yellow, and sharpened it.

other sizes: small medium original auto

Sweet !!! Great composition - you've really captured the essence of wasp nest-ness.

I got a yellow jacket nest I'm going to napalm this morning. I'm not going to photo them first though. :) That is one huge nest and a great series of photos. I've always just taken a broom and knocked the nest down. They go away after that and I don't have commit homicide. LOL.

Eliminate at every opportunity - Exterminate, I will send a Dalek around to discuss etermination with you.
Great photo considering the subject clear and plent of detail.

I hate these things with a vengeange. And they scare me to death, I can't believe you dared to get so close to them. Natalie: yours is incredible! They look as scary and deadly up close as they do from a mile away ;)

Great shots

Natalia, you were certainly justified! You were close enough to see him contemplating biting you -- mine are currently minding their own business; hence the dilemma: Will a "live and let live" attitude come back to bite me?

(I kind of like the picture showing up here -- it makes me feel a little better about taking down the hive later...) :-)

Not yet, but in this case I'd say it is the prudent thing to do, and I'd get as far away as possible. Great macro, but I'm very allergic to these and I'm leaving. Bye!
