It's sort of tongue-in-cheek. It shines a light on the oddities and misinterpretations of the bible that most people don't know about or choose to ignore, through direct quotes from the bible, and observation. Like the paraphrased: "God tells Noah that He intends to kill nearly every living creature on earth because the world has become too violent." -- Genesis 6:13 So, it is funny. Alarming, but funny.
