Snowed In

This is the most snow we've had all season, and really only the second or third time you could
even call it "snow" - the other times didn't even cover the grass in some places.

We've had some rain though, so at least some moisture's getting into the ground.

It's a little scary.

This was Fiacre just two years ago:

Definitely can adjust the metering. I agree this exposure isn't good from a technical standpoint, but I still kind of like the effect.

This was one of the first shots I took outside, shot at ground level, and I couldn't see squat with the snow glare. (My kingdom for a flip screen! ;) Even if I had the EVF it wouldn't have helped me here. Also, had the B&W set to high contrast, just goofing off. This is _definitely_ a forced high contrast shot - I pretty much hamstrung the camera's dynamic range capability. My bad. :)

Hmm... Metering in snow might be better. Do you have spot metering, and can you adjust the metering on this camera?
