Don't know how anyone takes macros of living insects.
This one got into the car somehow and died in the heat so my subject was
pretty easy to work with, but it's still not a super great shot.
If I had to venture a guess, I'd say this was a clear-winged hummingbird moth of some sort.
It had clubbed antennae and a sort of bee coloring, with clear wings and a - um, curly tongue,
or whatever you call it. It was somewhat smaller than other specimens I've seen though.
Yeah, looked it up and I'm pretty sure it's a Snowberry Clearwing Moth.
If it's not, will the butterfly-identification gestapo please let me know before bombing my house?
The old cat is nearly deaf, but I like to set up a bed for her in the bathroom when storms come,
because she still doesn't like the way loud noises _feel_.
