This was my first trip ever to the U.K. and I went by myself. For just one week. Oh, and I got a car with a manual transmission, the plane was about 4 hours late and I had a 4 hour drive ahead of me when I landed. In the dark. It was also the year of terrible flooding in Wales (the sun came out for the first time in months on the first morning I woke up, and it stayed out until the day I left. Providence for idiots, in action.) Looking back I believe it was the stupidest, most brilliant thing I've ever done. But oh, what memories! Sometimes you just gotta leap.
