Kookaburra

The choice of my Nikon's 70-200mm 2.8 lens sure was right! Normally I use a 500mm for these type of falcon shows but it's not what I wanted to use at this falcon show. I wanted to get the utmost feather detail and sharpness of the birds.
This is the Kookaburra. They are native to Australia and New Guinea. They are classified as a Tree Kingfisher. They sure have a neat call. They sound like their name in a long distinguished call.

Excellent, and I agree, right lens choice. I love my D500! V
