Mungos mungo gothneh - South-Sudan to Lake Chad and North-Congo;
Mungos mungo adaliensis - Red Sea coast of Sudan;
Mungos mungo somalicus - Somalia;
Mungos mungo zebra - Eritrea and Ethiopia;
Mungos mungo fasciatus - Kenya;
Mungos mungo colonus - Rift Valley of Kenya to Tanzania;
Mungos mungo macrurus - Ruwenzori, Uganda;
Mungos mungo zebroides - Democratic Republic of the Congo;
Mungos mungo rossi - South-Congo to Zimbabwe;
Mungos mungo grisonax - Angola to Namibia;
Mungos mungo ngamiensis - Northwest-Botswana;
Mungos mungo bororensis - Zambezi province of Mozambique;
Mungos mungo senescens - Mozambique (Inhambane);
Mungos mungo pallidipes - South-Africa (Rustenburg and Transvaal);
Mungos mungo taenianotus - South-Africa (KwaZulu-Natal).
