Giant Anteater - Myrmecophaga tridactyla - Reuzenmiereneter
South America east of the Andes.
The following 3 subspecies are being recognized:
Myrmecophaga tridactyla tridactyla - South America, east of the Andes;
Myrmecophaga tridactyla artata - Northeast-Colombia and Northwest-Venezuela, west of the Andes;
Myrmecophaga tridactyla centralis - Honduras through most of Central America to West=Colombia and Northwest-Ecuador.
