Indian Paintbrush (Giant Red Paintbrush) - Castilleja miniata
Western North-America, from Alaska to Ontaria, south to California and New Mexico.

The following 3 subspecies are being recognised:
Castilleja miniata miniata - Inland from Alberta and Ontario to New-Mexico;
Castilleja miniata dixonii - Coastal from Alaska to Oregon;
Castilleja miniata elata - Klamath Mountains of California and South-Oregon.
