Tropical Boubou - Laniarius major - Ethiopische Fiskaal
West- and Central-Africa south to South-Zambia, North- and Central-Mozambique.

The following 4 subspecies are being recognized:
Laniarius major major - Senegal and Gambia to Liberia and east to West-Kenya and North-Zambia;
Laniarius major ambiguus - East-Kenya and Northeast-Tanzania;
Laniarius major limpopoensis - Southeast-Zimbabwe and North-South Africa;
Laniarius major mossambicus - Zambia and Malawi to Northeast-Namibia, North-Botswana, Zimbabwe and Mozambique.
