This is a spring picture, but I included it as color worthy of attention. Red maple trees, whose earliness in the fall was the subject of the first picture in this gallery, also contribute redness to early spring as their flower buds approach their time. The redness is not usually as prominent as in this example, but it enlivens the borders of many wetlands
