August 29, 2008 splendidly illustrated the lengendary variability of New England's weather. A trip from Middlebury to Burlington 35 miles away and back again, through Addison County's valleys and hilly terrain and more urban Chittenden County, offered many good views of the constantly changing spectacle above.Cloudspotters will recognize these as high altitude clouds, cirrus and cirrocumulus, with virga fallstreaks and unusual ripple effects--all indicative of wet weather to come, with so much moisture at play as a warm front moved in across the top of a receding cold air mass.
